We offer riding lessons to both adults and children (Western and English lessons are available). Whether you are interested in riding horses for pleasure, show, or both, we can accommodate affordably. There's more to horses than just riding! Lessons at Meadowthorpe Farm focus on developing sound overall horsemanship skills. We teach the care and handling necessary to safely work with horses... safety of horse and rider comes first! Because understanding horse behavior is important, we teach riders how to think like a horse does! Taking the time to learn good basics pays off and produces better, well-rounded equestrians. We don't rush students to learn on "our schedule " because we want our lessons to be an enjoyable and successful experience that leaves everyone feeling happy and accomplished at the end of a session.
We are an ideal program for students who enjoy a quiet environment with personalized, one-to-one attention, and customized coaching. We avoid sensory overload-with many riders and/or lessons happening in the ring at one time. Each student is unique, and our training reflects this.
We are looking forward to the 2019 Horse Show Season and plan to attend many local hunter jumper and dressage schooling and rated shows with our talented group of horses and riders. Our eyes are set on several fun road trip destinations as well this year-stay tuned.
Themed birthday parties are available for kids age 4+. This includes pony AND party time! Contact us additional information and rates.
"There is something about a horse that is good for the inside of a human"... We offer sessions to special needs children. Our specialty is working with autism. We also offer non-riding sessions to handicapped individuals- children and adults- for those just needing some hands-on, "happy healing time" spent enjoying the farm, horses, and the outdoors.
